Your Local Charity for Humanitarian Aid in Atlantic Canada and beyond

Love Worx is a registered Canadian charity based in New Maryland, NB, providing humanitarian aid and spiritual support to people in need. As a Christian organization, we're affiliated with the churches of the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada and focus on meeting the needs of people and groups who are victims of hardships caused by economic factors or natural disasters.

We aim to be a physical expression of Jesus Christ’s commandment to love your neighbour.

All About Love Worx

Love Worx began in 2012 when Todd Coldwell and Wade Kierstead answered a simple call to help. It all began when these two friends in New Maryland, NB, heard of a single mother struggling with a leaky faucet. They realized the greatest gift they could give was showing her that someone cares.

They heard of more people in need and were inspired to step up to have a positive impact on the world, as Christians are called to do. Soon after, they were organizing more volunteers to meet the increasing requests for help.

Incorporated in 2024, Love Worx Canadian Relief Incorporated is a registered Canadian charity and a 100% volunteer-driven, Christian humanitarian aid organization. We provide skilled volunteer labour to serve individuals, families, and communities impacted by hardship, natural disasters, or emergencies.

Our mission is rooted in Romans 12:9: “Let your love be real.”

We exist to demonstrate the love of Christ through action, meeting the spiritual and physical needs of our neighbors' by providing humanitarian assistance when they need it most. Our team organizes, equips, and serves so no one feels alone in their struggle.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is Love Worx different from other humanitarian organizations?

We are 100% volunteer based with no paid staff – all donations are fully used to support the projects and costs to respond to the needs. While many other organizations only respond to larger projects or community based needs, Love Worx strives to respond to the individual needs as well. We focus on needs that may be too small for other organizations to respond to, while also coming alongside the other organizations to support community-based needs or larger catastrophes.

  • Do I have to belong to a church to ask for help?

Absolutely not! We evaluate our ability to respond to requests without consideration of religious background or other demographics.

  • Do I have to belong to a church to volunteer?

Absolutely not! Our volunteers come from all walks of life and are people who see the impact we strive to have, coming alongside people who have a need and not many options. We are always looking for people who have a heart for the people and want to make a difference in the world.

  • Where do you typically travel to help people?

We currently have two main locations – Fredericton NB and Windsor NS. We support groups and individuals in those regions, and under special circumstances travel to other locations.

  • What other organizations do you help?

We support various kids camps by organizing volunteers to respond to work days and do maintenance tasks, and other groups that have needs they have difficulties fulfilling. We also support larger disaster relief organizations and have responded across North America, from hurricanes in PEI to the wildfires in California. Check out our photos for various projects we have been involved with!

  • Do you supply materials for the repairs?

The people or groups we help are generally responsible for the costs of materials required for the work. We use donations from individuals and organizations to fund consumables, specialty tool rentals (when required), replacing regular tools as needed, and other costs.

  • How can I volunteer?

Send an email to info@loveworx.ca and tell us where and when you are interested in helping out!

  • How can I support your work financially?

Send an etransfer to giving@loveworx.ca To receive a charitable donation receipt for income tax purposes, please send us an email as well with your name and address, along with the date/time and amount of the donation, and we will send you a receipt with our thanks!
